Marshall Eagles Stand United: Thurgood Marshall Students Rally Against PUSD “Transformation” Process

Students from Thurgood Marshall Secondary School turned out in full force at the most recent Pasadena Unified School District special board meeting to directly challenge the board’s newly proposed “District Transformation Process”. The demonstration underscored a deep community frustration over perceived backsliding on district promises regarding transparency, listening, and community healing as the board began drafting definitions for the new policy. Following the tense meeting, Thurgood Marshall Secondary School amplified the students’ advocacy in an Instagram post, stating, “Marshall Eagles rallied together and made their voices heard at tonight’s Pasadena Unified School District Board Meeting! Their message was clear-their voices matter. Their education matters. Their community matters. Their future matters. We are deeply disheartened to find ourselves back here after promises of transparency, listening, and community healing, but tonight our students showed us the power of standing together. WE ARE MARSHALL. And we will keep showing up!”
