Girls Varsity Soccer in celebration – Coach Prado in front

Marshall Fundamental Principal Lori Touloumian stated, “I could not be prouder of our Varsity Girls Soccer Team, and Coach Prado! The tenacity, skill, and passion that they have shown this season is truly unsurpassed. I am thrilled to cheer them on to victory. They have already made our school, our district, and our city extremely proud. Let’s Go Eagles!”

The Lady Eagles route to this year’s title game was under the tutelage of Coach Erika Prado, a Marshall Fundamental first year Physical Education Teacher and Girls Varsity Soccer Head Coach. Coach Prado comes with plenty of experience. She played collegiate soccer at California State Los Angeles, as well as internationally. Prior to joining the Eagle Faculty, she gained knowledge and experience coaching other high school teams, club soccer teams, and as a second assistant coach for a collegiate soccer team.

During the CIF Playoff Tournament, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 12-1. Coach Prado considered her comment before stating, “I have to believe we have what it takes to win. The team has to put all of their energy into creating good plays; from the frontline, the middle third, the defense, the goalie, and we need to put the ball in the back of the net. We have the chemistry needed, we need to bring it all together, and when it’s over leave it on the field.”

Superintendent Dr. Brian McDonald said, “I am very proud of our Eagles Girls Soccer team. Their success is a true testament to their hard work and dedication on and off the field. I am looking forward to cheering for them at this weekend’s Championship Game!”
