Marshall Middle School Scientists Take Flight with Paper Airplane Experiments

Sixth-grade science students at Thurgood Marshall Secondary School, under the guidance of Ms. Serrano, explored independent and dependent variables through an exciting paper airplane design experiment. The young scientists designed and tested their own paper airplanes, experimenting with different designs and materials to discover how each factor affected flight performance. They could test three different designs using the same material or compare three different materials using a single design.

Through this hands-on activity, students put their critical-thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills into practice while learning how variables influence experimental results. The experiment demonstrated that science can be both engaging and fun as the Marshall Eagles spread their wings and explored the principles of flight!
