NAMI at St. Francis High School, “It is Ok Not to be Ok”

NAMI, the National Alliance of Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest nonprofit mental health organization. Speakers from NAMI recently visited SFHS Mr. Gibbon’s freshman Geography classes and Mrs. Reichert’s World History classes. Coordinating with Mr. Bell, St. Francis High School’s Wellness Counselor, their presentation focuses on education about mental illness and mental health, “ending the silence” and debunking the myths and stigma associated with mental health. It is ok to not be ok.

NAMI Ending the Silence is an engaging presentation that helps middle and high school aged youth learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition.
