Pasadena High School: Growing Plants, Growing Together

A special project in Mr. Sullivan’s Special Education classes at Pasadena High School gives students the opportunity to learn about responsibility, patience, and growth by growing their own plants.

Each student has a small cup and a slightly larger pot. They planted beans in the smaller cups and flowers in the larger pots, with each container clearly labeled. Students regularly water their plants and keep track of their growth as they watch them develop.

The project also offers a meaningful lesson: not every plant grows at the same rate, and that is perfectly okay. Just as each plant grows at its own pace, every student has their own unique pace of learning and growing.
