Southwestern Academy Students Dive Into Business Strategy Through AP Finance Class

Southwestern Academy’s AP Business and Personal Finance class is officially in session, with budgeting, investing, strategy, and smart business decision-making at the core of each lesson. Students are also putting their business knowledge into practice while playing Brass: Birmingham, a business strategy board game set during the Industrial Revolution in Birmingham, England. In the game, four teams of entrepreneurs compete by establishing and developing railroads, cotton mills, coal mines, and iron works while building networks and responding to market demands. The game provides students with a highly engaging and collaborative environment in which to explore business concepts and strategic thinking. “We can’t wait to see what our students learn next!”
