Pasadena Waldorf 9th Grader Creates a Stunning Painting

Pasadena Waldorf’s Mr. Peter’s Art 2D class, 9th grade student Maite created this stunning painting. After drawing from direct observation in black-and-white during the first half of the semester, students then moved on acrylic on canvas. Students chose a black-and-white photograph and re-created it according to a color scheme of their choice. Working in layers, each built up the surface, using a combination of opaque and semi opaque brushstrokes.
