Poly Students Participate in Moderna Vaccine Trial

Polytechnic School is honored to share that Avery S. ’33 and Aidan S. ’28 participated in a Kaiser Permanente vaccine trial to test the efficacy and dosage amounts of Moderna in children under the age of 12. The children consented to receive the vaccine and did so under the supervision of their parents, Stephen and Erin, who are Kaiser physicians. The trial is an important step to increasing the availability of COVID vaccines to all age groups as young as six months and informing public trust. “I thought it would be a good opportunity to not only get the vaccine but also figure out the correct dose for children my age so then a lot more children can get the vaccine,” said Aidan. Polytechnic School is proud of those in the Poly community working to improve public health.
