Rolling Robots Announces New Afterschool Programs

9 – 12 years olds build VEX IQ robot

Rolling Robots, an educational service in Southern California, is undergoing a seasonal transition to offer afterschool programs in robotics and coding for children aged 5 to 15.

A family-owned business, Rolling Robots has dedicated its mission to exposing children to robotics and coding with a practical, hands-on approach.

“We typically offer kids a range of robotics, coding, inventions, and STEM learning programs,” said Bing Jiang, the CEO of Rolling Robots. “Our teaching method is hands on and minds on – similar to the MIT motto.”

Jiang announced the new afterschool programs in an interview with Pasadena Now.

Junior Roboteers 1

“Since everybody is going back to school, we want to introduce our afterschool program to everyone,” Jiang said. “We are working with kids from age five all the way up to high school, providing them with hands-on learning of robotics and coding.”

The programs are designed for different age groups and levels of experience.

For five- to six-year-olds, Rolling Robots offers a program called Junior Roboteers, where children learn about mechanical, electrical, and coding aspects of robotics through hands-on projects.

For seven- to nine-year-olds, the company offers Intro to Coding of Robots, which focuses on basic robot building and coding.

For nine- to twelve-year-olds, Rolling Robots introduces the VEX Robotics System and Lego Robotics System for more complex mechanisms and coding.

HighSchoolers VEX Competition Team

For middle school students who are just starting out in robotics, Rolling Robots offers a Team Prep class to prepare for the VEX Robotics competition.

For those with more experience, there are three different levels of competition teams available: First Lego League, VEX IQ for elementary school kids, and VEX VRC for middle school and high school kids.

Rolling Robots was established in 2008 and provides year-round educational programs, including homeschool, afterschool, and summer camps. Initially inspired by Build-A-Bear Workshop, Rolling Robots began as a retail spot for kids interested in robots.

The team at Rolling Robots continues to innovate in STEM education, building an empowered generation of young minds ready to make their mark on the world.

Jiang concluded, “We’re interested in showing parents what they can do with their kids to help them finding their passion and navigate on their path to creative tech genius.”

Rolling Robots has 4 locations (Palos Verdes, Glendale, West LA and Irvine) offering afterschool program and scores of special events and projects — Find out more, by contacting (888) 762-6808. See https://rollingrobots.com/.
