Sequoyah Alumni Shine on the Big Screen This August

Film lovers in the Sequoyah School community have plenty to celebrate as three distinguished alumni bring their creative talents to theaters nationwide this month.

Lurker, produced by Galen Core (Class of 2009), opens in select theaters on August 22. This gripping psycho-thriller follows a retail employee who infiltrates the inner circle of an artist on the brink of stardom. As he draws closer to the rising music star, access and proximity become a dangerous game of life and death.

East of Wall, written and directed by Kate Beecroft (Class of 2007) with music composed by Lukas Frank (Class of 2008), debuts in select theaters on August 15. This evocative docu-fiction tells the story of Tabatha, a tattooed, rebellious horse trainer coping with the death of her husband. While grappling with grief and financial insecurity, she offers refuge to a group of wayward teenagers on her rundown ranch in the Badlands.

Both films will also be featured at the prestigious Deauville American Film Festival in September 2025, further highlighting the exceptional storytelling of Sequoyah alumni.
