Sequoyah Middle School Debate Team Places 3rd Overall in First Tournament of the Year

The sun shone brightly on Sequoyah Middle School Debate Team at their first tournament of the year. Competing against Harvard-Westlake, High Point, LILA, Mayfield, Chandler, Poly, and New Horizons, Sequoyah came in 3rd overall for its % of wins. Sequoyah brought 6 teams of three, its largest group to date, to debate if sports doping should be legal and if the U.S. should adopt a national service draft.

Sequoyah School thanks Foster’ 25, Rozella Oliver, Brett Webster, and Liz Rappaport for judging, to April Langford and Randy Clement for the Triple Beam Pizza, and to Helga Eike for food delivery.

The next tournament is December 2 at Chandler where the team debate if smart phones belong in schools and if plastics do more harm than good.
