South Pasadena High School Drama Students Read “A New Beginning”

Crowd-sourced Community Poem by South Pasadena's Poet Laureate Ron Koertge

To celebrate National Poetry Month, South Pasadena residents of all ages contributed to a crowdsourced community poem, which City of South Pasadena Poet Laureate Ron Koertge wove together into one unified poem titled “A New Beginning.”

The collaborative journey wasn’t finished there, however, and the final step was for South Pasadena High School Drama students to perform the poem. Their creative interpretation highlights each student’s individual style while maintaining a harmony of feeling, adding another layer of collaboration and community to the project.
