San Marino High School Performing Arts Presents “Grease”



San Marino High School (SMHS) Performing Arts presents “Grease”, opening on Thursday, April 22nd at the SMHS Quad. Book, Music and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Directed by Blake Williams.

“Grease” is based on the 1971 musical of the same name by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and screenplay originally written by Bronte Woodard. Grease depicts the lives of greaser Danny Zuko and Australian transfer student Sandy Olsson who develop an attraction for each other. Danny is the leader of the T-Birds greaser gang, consisting of his best friend Kenickie, plus Doody, Sonny, and Putzie. The Pink Ladies, a clique of greaser girls, consists of leader Rizzo, Frenchy, Marty, and Jan. When Sandy’s family decides not to return to Australia, Sandy enrolls at Rydell High School and consequently becomes a member of The Pink Ladies due to her friendship with Frenchy.
