Southwestern Academy’s Mr. Bird Students Hits the Mat

Last weekend, Mr. Bird took a crew of Southwestern Academy boys to the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. Saif, Roman, Ricky, and Sabyrzhan joined a group of students from San Marino, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Monrovia, Eagle Rock and beyond for wrestling and conditioning drills. The conditioning drills in the photos are buddy carries, where you literally carry your buddy! In the one photo, Sabryzhan is giving a piggy-back ride to someone. In another photo, Saif is carrying Ricky in a baby carry, while in the background, someone is carrying Sabryzhan in a baby carry as well. Sabryzhan was amazed someone could carry him!
