SPEF Summer School 2025: Learning, Enrichment & Community

The South Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Summer School program serves more than 2,000 students annually, providing opportunities to enhance their academic skills and spark their creative potential. With proficiency and enrichment classes available for students of all ages, from kindergartners to high school seniors, SPEF’s Summer School program is a vital resource for the community.

SPEF’s Summer School and Summer Camps are inclusive, welcoming students from various backgrounds and communities. The program is open to anyone who wishes to participate, making it a valuable resource for learners of all ages and abilities.

Summer School Dates

Elementary (K-4) & Intermediate (4-8)

Monday, June 9 – Thursday, July 3
High School (9-12)

Monday, June 16 – Friday, July 18
No School on June 19 or July 4

Updates For This Year’s 2025 Summer School

Due to facility upgrades at SPMS, Intermediate Summer School will be split between Marengo Elementary and South Pasadena Middle School. We have done this before to accommodate facility improvements, and it is a smooth process for students.

K-4: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classes will be held at the Arroyo Vista Elementary School campus (not Marengo).

4-8: Some 4th-grade and 5th – 8th-grade classes will take place at Marengo Elementary School and South Pasadena Middle School.

4th Grade Students—You can choose which school site you want your 4th grader to attend this year. You can’t participate in both school sites; you must choose one. Campus location is based on class selection, so please review the catalog and make your class selections with that in mind.
