The Power of PUSD: Rising Together into 2025–26



Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) officially opened the 2025–26 school year on Thursday, August 14, with a spirited gathering that brought staff together in celebration, reflection, and renewal, recognizing exceptional employees and community partners while reaffirming the district’s commitment to advancing student achievement in literacy, mathematics, and college and career readiness in environments that support overall well-being; keynote speaker Merlyna Mathieu Valentine, an international motivational speaker, author, and former educator celebrated for her message of perseverance and purpose, delivered an inspiring address that left attendees energized for the year ahead, and as students prepare to return on August 18, the district embraces a new year of growth, collaboration, and rising together.
