Turning the Page Together: PUSD United in Resilience and Hope

As the Pasadena Unified School District marked the one-year anniversary of the Eaton Fire, Don Benito Fundamental School, welcomed special guest readers into its classrooms. Guests shared Home: A Story of Resilience by Carrie Barnes, creating meaningful moments centered on hope, healing, and the strength of community. The visit encouraged student engagement and thoughtful reflection, reinforcing the message that recovery and resilience are built together.

The district extends its sincere gratitude to L.A. Fire Justice, Teamsters Local 986 and 665, PUSD Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Blanco, and all participating guest readers – including members of the Justice League, author Carrie Barnes, Chris Holden, and actor Melora Hardin – for their support and presence. Their collective efforts uplifted students and served as a powerful reminder that resilience grows when a community comes together.
