Welcoming New Voices to the Pasadena Education Network Board

Welcome to the new Pasadena Education Network (PEN) Board Members: Rachel Axelrod, Steve Cooper, Crista Funk, Julissa Gomez, and Ray Ruffin. “We’re excited to welcome these new elementary school parents, who represent a diverse mix of Pasadena-area schools and bring fresh perspectives, ideas, and energy to our conversations!”  The Board wasted no time getting to work — kicking things off with a productive PEN Board Planning Meeting last weekend, diving right into strategic discussions and plans for the coming year.

The Pasadena Education Network (PEN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) families by promoting informed, engaged parent participation in public education. Through outreach, parent-led programs, school tours, and advocacy, PEN empowers families to make confident choices about their children’s education while fostering a strong, connected community committed to excellent, equitable public schools.
