Young Cougars Take on STEM Challenges at Clairbourn’s Early Learning STEM Night

This year’s Early Learning STEM Night brought out the imagination of Clairbourn School’s youngest Cougars. JPK, PK, and Kindergarten students used the design thinking process to help Little Red Riding Hood save Grandma by building a safe zipline basket to escape out of her window along her clothesline. They explored gravity, force, and tension, experimented with different materials, and worked with the I-Lab teacher, a visiting engineer, and even some 6th-grade “zipline experts.” The young Cougars sketched, built, and tested their designs, and the school was impressed by their creativity and problem-solving throughout STEM Night.
