626 Night Market, the iconic Californian festival inspired by the famous open-air nighttime bazaars of Asia but named after the 626 area code region of San Gabriel Valley, will be back at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia this weekend, Friday to Sunday, August 27 to 29, from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight.
Back for a ninth season at the San Gabriel Valley, the flagship 626 Night Market features over 250 food, merchandise, crafts, arts, games, music, and entertainment attractions in an epic event that’s open for all ages.
This year, the organizers decided on the theme, “Coming Home” and are expecting up to 100,000 attendees during the three-day weekend.
“’Home’ is a place of familiarity and nostalgia where you see all your friends and family again after a long time like a family reunion,” the organizers said on the event website. “We severely missed all our attendees, vendors, artists, performers and staff last year when COVID put a pause on 2020. If this is your first time attending one of our events, then we hope that 626 Night Market will become your home too.”
Following the flagship event in Arcadia in 2012, two additional events were added to meet popular demand: the Orange County Night Market at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa in 2014, and the NorCal Night Market at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton in 2018.
Early last year, all events were renamed to 626 Night Market, with OC Night Market now referred to as 626 Night Market-OC and NorCal Night Market as 626 Night Market-Bay Area.
626 Night Market aims to unite and empower the community by serving as a platform for showcasing local talent including performers, chefs, and entrepreneurs.
Tickets are now available online through www.626nightmarket.com/
Masks are required for all attendees ages 2 and older, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine.
