A Magical Night to Fight Hunger

Published on Sep 22, 2022

One Colorado and CoreGiving, a non-profit organization created in 2016 to fight child hunger in communities throughout the U.S., are hosting “A Magical Night to Fight Hunger,” a one-night-only, three-act magic show hosted by Elizabeth Messick to accompany your four-course Sushi Roku dinner on Friday, Sept. 23, at the One Colorado Courtyard.

One hundred percent of ticket proceeds will benefit CoreGiving and the program to eliminate the growing problem of childhood hunger by feeding young bodies and minds.

Hunger affects one in every six U.S. children, and the organizers are dedicated to providing nourishing meals to food-insecure children.

“We are passionate in our belief that no child should ever experience hunger and its negative effects,” CoreGiving said.

Aside from the dinner and the magic show, you can also make individual donations to CoreGiving and get a chance to snag One Colorado raffle prizes from Il Fornaio, Sushi Roku, and other shops in the area.

If you arrive early, be dazzled with table-side magic by Griffin Barry and a welcome drink.

Elizabeth Messick is regarded as LA’s Premiere Singing Magician. Known as The Siren of Magic, she astonishes and bewilders audiences with her magical artistry and her mellifluous voice. Her great grandfather was Concepcion el Gran, a traveling carnival magician in the hills of Honduras during the 1930s. She inherited his passion for prestidigitation and illusion. She is the resident weekly magician and singer at the Black Rabbit Rose in Hollywood.

The other magicians on the show are David Stryker, award-winning mentalist and magician, and among the youngest headliners in the history of the world-famous Magic Castle; and David Gabbay, whom you may have seen on Nickelodeon, ABC’s “Nightline,” Science Channel’s “Through the Wormhole” with Morgan Freeman, or at one of his many appearances as a featured performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood.

Checkin is at 6:15 p.m. The three-act Magic Show and Coursed Dinner begins at 7 p.m.

This event is for ages 21 and older only.
