Camerata Pacifica, one of the leading chamber ensembles in the country, presents a unique and highly anticipated concert featuring flutist Emi Ferguson and the Baroque band Ruckus. This all-Bach program will be held on Tuesday, February 28th, at 7:30 p.m. at The Huntington’s Rothenberg Hall in San Marino.

Emi Ferguson, considered a star early-music flutist, is a versatile performer who uses different types of flutes, including silver, historical and auxiliary flutes, to bring a fresh take on traditional and contemporary works. She has been featured on several TEDX events and on platforms like The Discovery Channel, Netflix’s “Explained” series, and Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” Ferguson was also a performer at the 10th anniversary Memorial Ceremony of 9/11 at Ground Zero, where her performance of “Amazing Grace” was televised worldwide and is now part of the permanent collection at the 9/11 Museum.

Ruckus, the world’s only period-instrument rock band, is known for their shapeshifting, collaborative approach to early music. Their sound blends the creative spirit of early music with the grit, groove, and jangle of American roots music, making them a one-of-a-kind ensemble. In 2022, Ruckus served as the Baroque band in residence at The Ojai Festival.

Camerata Pacifica, established in 1990, has built a reputation for their adventurous music and innovative programming. With virtuoso musicians from around the world, Camerata Pacifica presents heritage works alongside less familiar pieces and commissioned pieces. They have a commissioning portfolio that includes over 20 works by established and rising composers, with three new commissions currently in process. Based in Santa Barbara, California, Camerata Pacifica has a busy performance schedule throughout Southern California and beyond, with a flagship series of nine programs each season.

Don’t miss this unique and thrilling concert experience that combines the musical mastery of Bach with the creativity and energy of Emi Ferguson and Ruckus. Come join Camerata Pacifica and immerse yourself in the limitless scope of the chamber music repertoire.
