Bay Area Violinist Brings Diverse Program to Pasadena Stage

Violinist Patrick Galvin makes his live Boston Court debut on Friday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m. Galvin will perform a program of works for solo violin by composers including J.S. Bach, Eugene Ysaÿe, Florence Price, Grazyna Bacewicz, and selections from “Six Tasty Caprices” by Korine Fujiwara.

Galvin is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Camilla Wicks, Wei He, and Simon James. He also spent two years studying violin with Barbara Gorzynska at the Prayner Konservatorium in Vienna, Austria.

Galvin is a versatile violinist with a wide range of interests. He is a member of the folk band Hoxton Mob, who perform regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also a teaching assistant to Simon James at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and he gives master classes regularly to talented young players across the country.

Galvin is a passionate advocate for music education. He has said believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of making music, regardless of their background or ability. He is committed to making music accessible to everyone, and he works to promote music education in his community.
