Now is your chance to see Castle Green in a way you’ve never seen before with this first-ever virtual holiday tour, starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20.
Participants will have a chance to be a part of this intimate guided tour through the castle, including private residences, bridge and roof.
The virtual format of this annual event will allow visitors to once again explore the beautiful venue dressed in its Christmas finest, this time from the comfort of their own homes anywhere in the world.
Built in 1898, Castle Green was designed by architect Frederick I. Roehrig with the influence of Moorish, Spanish and Victorian elements. It maintains much of its original design today, providing turn-of-the-century glamor and charm that can be recognized from the many television shows and films that have been shot on its iconic grounds.
In the more than 120 years since it was built, Castle Green has become one of the most cherished historic buildings in Pasadena and remains a majestic centerpiece of the city. Castle Green is listed as a nationally registered historic landmark, a state historical monument, and a designated Pasadena Treasure.
World-famous magician and performer Jonathan Levitt will host the 90-minute event on Sunday, where visitors will be able to explore the Moorish, Turkish, and Victorian salons as well as the spacious ballroom, before making their way up to the iconic bridge and roof.
Some of the castle’s most luxurious private condominiums have also been made available for public viewing during the tour, showcasing the world-class musicians and artists who live there.
“Although our Christmas tour may look different this year, we are thrilled to once again share in the holiday celebration and welcome the public back inside our beautiful castle,” Castle Green General Manager Jack Green said.
