Actor, singer, designer, mother, and longtime Pasadena resident Rebecca King Crews launched her Summer 2023 line of women’s tuxedos, suits and separates at a trunk show in Old Pasadena on Thursday, June 29.
The Summer collection features pieces in black, white and shades of fuchsia as well as handbags, belts, shoes and cosmetics.
The inspiration for the Rebecca Crews Collection came when Rebecca was unable to find an outfit for her 30th anniversary with husband Terry. “I received so many compliments when I wore my designs to events including the Golden Globe Awards, the Emmy’s and People’s Choice Awards,” Rebecca said. “After getting frustrated about not being able to find something to wear for our anniversary, I decided to create a line of women’s tuxedos and suits that could be worn formally or informally.”
Rebecca’s suits were worn by MC Lyte to the Grammys; on Access Hollywood by Tatyana Ali; by Avril Lavigne for a photo shoot; by Christina Milian at the Spider-Man premiere and have also made appearances at the Golden Globes, the Night Before The Emmy’s Party, Gladys Knight’s 75th Birthday Celebration, and the People’s Choice Awards. They are designed to outfit the woman who is strong, feminine, and powerful. Classic, yet on the cusp of modernism and flair. She and her team utilize the most refined workmanship and expert tailoring to create a fabulously feminine fit– careful to present clothing that’s fashionable and functional.
Rebecca has made a name for herself as the famed R&B singer with a twist of a neo-soul, and she is the wife of award-winning actor, artist and activist Terry Crews (“America’s Got Talent,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) with whom she has five children.
