Cook. Watch. Eat.

Published on Feb 16, 2020

There’s a reason why TV cooking shows are so popular. People love to watch people cook, almost as much as they love to eat.

Now you can check out a cool cooking demonstration by Chef Sarkis Vartanian at the New Horizon School on Sunday morning.

Vartanian will use produce from the school’s Peace Garden, along with herbs from the Silk Road Herb Garden for his culinary efforts.

Vartanian, restaurateur and food activist, was inspired by the slow food movement in Italy that encouraged the enjoyment of regional produce, traditional foods, grown organically.

Vartanian pursued his passion to make organic produce more accessible by advocating an urban industrial farm and cafe with outdoor seating just off railroad tracks in Downtown LA. His efforts maintain the traditional emphasis on local foods and presentation that his Chez Panisse pioneered in the Bay Area.

Eat all about it.
