Editor’s note: Dine LA Week has returned to Pasadena.  Dine LA Restaurant Week takes place twice a year highlighting the diversity of culinary experiences the area has to offer.

There are special lunch and dinner menus at scores of local restaurants throughout Pasadena. During this Fall 2023 event, dine-in restaurants are being featured only.  So grab a seat.

Dine out at a participating restaurant, ask for the Dine LA Restaurant Week menu and enjoy.

We’ll be highlighting as many participating restaurants as we can through the “week,” which runs through October 20. Here we go.

There are so many ways you could go with a name for your restaurant like “No Comment.”

Did you like the restaurant?  “No Comment”

Did you LOVE it?  “No comment.”

You get the idea. (We opted to stay positive.)

According to Assistant General Manager Doc Edemba, the restaurant, which opened in January of this year, is an American take on the infusion of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine.

The restaurant is also heavy on entertainment with a variety of music offered on the weekends. In fact, as we dined early-ish on a Thursday  evening, the DJ was warming up the wheels as a small group of diners began to fill the large dining room.

We’ll come back for the music soon, but on to the Dine LA Restaurant Week offerings.

With a choice of Salmon Sashimi, Caesar Salad and Brussel Sprouts, we opted for the Sashimi, which was fresh and sweet, served with mango habanero, and soy mustard.

The entree was a choice of Pasta Primavera, with seasonal heirloom vegetables, champagne butter reduction, parmesan and chives; a Pan Roasted Salmon with baby heirloom carrots, parsley pureé, cipollini onions and harissa; and Braised Beef Short Ribs with a butternut squash purée, and crispy onions.

While we were tempted by the Short Ribs, we chose the salmon, which was even better than that photograph there looks.

Dessert was a Chef’s Choice flourless chocolate cake with what I believe was a mascarpone topping,  and what I’m sure were sliced strawberries.

The $65 Dine LA Restaurant Week special at No Comment is a great deal at a beautiful dining spot with much more to offer than just a delicious menu.

No Comment restaurant is at 96 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA. (626) 345-5955. www.nocommentlounge.com
