Sushi on sale for two weeks? Other than world peace and a little red wagon, could anything be better? Old Pasadena’s SushiStop is offering just that as its participatory deal in DineLA Week, which of course, runs for two weeks, clearly because it can.

“We’re all about providing high-quality sushi at affordable prices,” said Ken Inouye, promotions manager for the chain.

The Stop’s promotion for DineLA, served all day, begins with miso soup, of course, which is then followed by a three-piece salmon sampler—one plain, and one topped with sliced scallions and one topped with Ceviché. And all of them are delectable.

Next arrives the salmon avocado roll. Do I really have to explain this to you? If you insist, it’s fresh, creamy avocado, salmon, a touch of wasabi, rolled and sliced. Hence the term. This roll will rock you.

There is also a baked salmon roll, which we were unable to try, as we ran out of time. I know, unbelievable. But we will return.

The Sushi Stop all-day sushi meal, at $15 for dine-in only, is really one of the better values of all the meals we’ve seen so far. Every DineLA meal is great, and some are pricier than others, but sushi on sale for two weeks? Could anything be better?

SushiStop is at 58 E. Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena CA. www.sushistop.com.
