Calling all bargain hunters and treasure seekers! The Pasadena City College (PCC) Flea Market is back for another exciting edition on Sunday, November 5, 2023. This monthly event, a beloved tradition in Pasadena, takes place on the first Sunday of every month, offering a unique shopping experience that’s perfect for collectors, antique enthusiasts, and savvy shoppers. Located in the PCC parking lots along the East and West sides of the campus, this bustling marketplace opens its gates from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except in January due to the Rose Parade.
The PCC Flea Market is renowned for its diverse selection of antiques and collectibles, featuring everything from high-end antiques to rummage sale-type items. With over 400 vendors in attendance, it’s one of the largest flea markets in Southern California. What can you expect to find? Well, the real question is, what can’t you find? Vendors offer an eclectic array of products, from vintage clothing to unique furniture and a vast collection of records. Music enthusiasts will be delighted to discover that more than 50 record vendors are on hand, offering items spanning from classic and big bands to present-day performers.
One of the best things about the PCC Flea Market is that admission is always free. Plus, you can enjoy complimentary parking in Lot 5 until June 2, 2024. After that date, parking is still affordable at just $2 in the parking structure off Bonnie Ave. So, you won’t break the bank while hunting for hidden gems.
What makes the PCC Flea Market even more special is its commitment to supporting higher education. Every dollar spent at the market goes towards student scholarships and activities at Pasadena City College. In the past year alone, the market contributed an impressive $50,000 to support students’ basic needs, especially during the pandemic. These scholarships play a vital role in ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
The market is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors composed of community members, a vendor representative, students, staff, and administrators. They meet every quarter to ensure that the market is well-run and its finances are managed efficiently, guaranteeing a fantastic experience for both shoppers and vendors.
For those who aspire to become a vendor at the PCC Flea Market, several payment options are available. You can make an online payment, mail in a check, cashier’s check, or money order payment to the PCC Flea Market, or even make payment on the day of the show at the information booth.
The PCC Flea Market isn’t just an event; it’s a community gathering that offers a fantastic opportunity to uncover unique items, hone your negotiation skills, and support a good cause simultaneously. So, mark your calendars, Pasadena, and get ready for a day of treasure hunting at the PCC Flea Market! For more information, you can contact them at fleamarket@pasadena.edu or call 626-585-7906.
