The Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Association in Pasadena will be streaming its Bungalow Heaven Encore 2022 Virtual Home Tour starting on Tuesday, April 12, featuring homes built in Craftsman and English Revival-style architecture from 1900 to about 1925.

The Home Tour is a major fundraiser for the BHNA, a non-profit organization composed of neighborhood volunteers. As Pasadena’s first Landmark District, BHNA is dedicated to preservation of its early 20th-century homes, education about Pasadena’s architectural history, and organization of neighborhood forums to address current events and advocacy.

In the virtual tour, participants will see Craftsman homes in the neighborhood, with river rock and redwood shingles augmenting deep front porches, wide windows and interior details of wood, hardware, tile and glass to create a truly welcoming atmosphere.

The English Revival homes, meanwhile, feature steeply pitched roofs, multi-paned windows, stucco exterior, arched front doorways, and in some cases a slightly storybook romanticism.

“The houses on our tour meld original historic elements, beautiful restorations and period appropriate renovations,” BHNA said. “We are proud to invite you to view the wonderful private properties our neighbors have generously offered to share for this exclusive online tour.”

BHNA had planned to return to in-person tours this year, but the desire to keep guests, docents and neighbors safe during the ongoing pandemic uncertainty made this impossible. Instead, seven videos will feature docents guiding viewers through each historic home and providing insightful commentary about the home’s architectural details.

Additional videos will feature artisans sharing restoration tips and tricks.

The pre-recorded video tour will be available for streaming up to April 26.

Tickets are $20 and are available through
