K-12 educators are invited to explore ways of integrating art and culture into their Ethnic Studies curriculum and multicultural instruction. In celebration of AAPI Heritage and Jewish American Heritage month, hear from renowned educator and activist, Liz Kleinrock, as she demonstrates her inquiry-based strategy for leading critical dialogues with students and shares how her personal, intersectional identities influence her anti bias and antiracist teaching practice. This program includes art-integrated lesson demonstrations and workshops by museum educators, gallery conversations, resource presentations, giveaways, refreshments, and more! USC PAM is proud to partner with the Skirball Cultural Center, the USC Shoah Foundation, and "Facing History and Ourselves", to give teachers a one-of-a-kind learning experience with tools that can directly be applied in their classrooms. Ticket includes all activities, museum admission, food, raffle ticket, and complimentary parking. Full program schedule will be shared closer to the event date. Salary point credit available to Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) teachers. All other teachers should inquire with their districts about credit. ASL translation provided upon request. Scholarship available upon request.
