Save the date and mark your calendars. "Join us for Turkey Tussle 2025 between the Pasadena High School Bulldogs and the John Muir Mustangs!" The annual Turkey Tussle homecoming football game between Pasadena High School and John Muir High School is at the Rose Bowl. The cross town rivalry football game between two high schools in Pasadena began (officially) in 1947. Pasadena High School and John Muir High School meet on the field for their homecoming football game and their final Pacific League game. For 75 years the "bell" has been the symbol of the Turkey Tussle and it has been passed back and forth between Pasadena High School and John Muir High Schools. Possession of the Victory Bell is the prize for the winning school. The Victory Bell a long-standing tradition between Pasadena High School and John Muir High School came as a gift from the Santa Fe Railroad presented in 1955 at the pep ralley for the Turkey Tussle. The student body at PHS, which then shared the same campus with PCC, though the two were not affiliated, wanted to start many traditions which would last through the years. When it came time for the Turkey Tussle, they talked of having a bell. "We hope to see you on Friday, October 31, 2025!" Follow us at Facebook for more updates.
