The Pasadena Museum of History (PMH) leads you through an exclusive 90-minute spotlight tour inside the 1906 Fenyes Mansion in Pasadena and – through “Starting Anew: Transforming Pasadena, 1890-1930” – presents a specialized, in-depth overview of the lives and accomplishments of Museum benefactors Eva and Adalbert Fenyes.

Eva Scott (1849-1930) and her husband, Dr. Adelbert Feynes (1863-1937) found in Pasadena a congenial community in which to settle down and pursue their professions and varied interests. Their 1906 Beaux Arts-style residence, by architect Robert D. Farquhar, with a 1911 addition by architect Sylvanus Marston, is an essential component of the storyline of the Museum’s Starting Anew exhibition.

This local landmark is unique historically, having housed four generations of the same family. Many of the rooms feature Eva Fenyes’ original décor, mainly preserved unchanged. This includes Oriental rugs, antique furnishings and decorative objects, and a significant collection of more than 100 paintings, including works by well-known local plein air artists.

The Fenyes Mansion has been designated a Pasadena Cultural Heritage Landmark and a Point of Historic Interest by the State of California.

Tickets to the tour are $20 to $25. To purchase tickets, visit www.pasadenahistory.org/events-calendar. Masks are required for this program.
