Feel the Love, Invest in a Dropout: Learning Works Silent Auction Sunday Lets You Help Disenfranchised Young People

Published on Feb 6, 2021

Learning Work Pasadena is hosting a Feel the Love fundraiser on Thursday, February 11, but before that event kicks off, the organization is hosting a silent auction fundraiser, starting on Sunday, February 7.

For the first time ever, this annual “Invest in a Dropout” fundraiser is going virtual, featuring videos from Father Greg Boyle and Mikala Rahn, as well as live emcees, student stories, and a virtual silent auction. As you take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives, you can opt for packages that include tickets, fun beverages and other event-enhancing gifts.

To receive your swag bag in time, Learning Works require attendees to RSVP by February 7.

In the silent auction, items will be displayed starting Sunday on  https://publicworksinc.ejoinme.org/MyEvents/InvestinaDropout2021/tabid/1208562/Default.aspx.

This year’s auction will use Greater Giving Online Bidding – allowing for a paperless bidding system. You can use your smartphone or tablet to bid on silent auction items. Also, you can easily track packages by “following” their activity without having to continuously return to a table or bid sheet.

The event on Thursday will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Learning Works is a laboratory for strategies that work to re-engage disenfranchised local young people back into education. Learning Works believes its lessons can be transferred to other public systems, including traditional schools.

As its primary program, Learning Works chase dropouts, re-engage them in education, and serve their needs up to graduation.
