“HolidayFest! Shop, Dine & Win” is back at the South Lake Avenue District in Pasadena on Saturday, Dec. 3 – an all-day event offering activities between 12 and 5 p.m. to encourage community members and guests to support Pasadena local businesses.
HolidayFest is how the South Lake Avenue District kicks off holiday shopping and dining every year, offering a diverse and festive mix of free live musical performances. Some of the bands lined up include Quitapenas, a tropical Afro-Latin combo; Dreaming of You, a Selena tribute band; and Las Cafeteras, a Chicano band from East Los Angeles that performs anything from Afro-Mexican to Americana, soul to “son jarocho,” and roots to rock and hip hop.
DJ William Reed, recognized as one of LA’s Best DJ’s by LA Weekly, will be spinning family-friendly beats at the venue all afternoon.
Live music will be performed at the Music Stage at Shops on Lake, at 345 S. Lake Ave.
HolidayFest! also features a Santa’s Village, a raffle draw, and holiday airbrush art at Macy’s, at 401 S. Lake Ave. A Holiday Artisan Market at The Commons, at 140 S. Lake Ave., will feature cooking and decorating demos by artisan makers. Also featured are a Winter Workshop with ornament-making and a sketch artist at Pasarroyo on 251 S. Lake Ave., and a Snow Globe station at Burlington Arcade, 396 S. Lake Ave.
New businesses that have recently opened on South Lake Avenue also welcome guests for HolidayFest, among them Marina Pasadena Restaurant, Gaucho Grill Argentine Steakhouse, Cycle Gear, Pasadena Hotel and Pool, Susie Cakes, Twinkle Tea, Gozen Shun Japanese, Restaurant, Sugared + Bronzed, Casper The Sleep Shop, Terra Outdoor Living, Peony Couture, Pasadena Weight Loss Center, One Life Yoga, Ms. Kawaii Eyelash Salon, NailBox Pasadena and Dentists of Pasadena on Lake, among others.
To play Shop, Dine & Win, purchase an item or dine at any of the South Lake Avenue businesses on Saturday between 12 and 5 p.m. Receipts must be dated Dec. 3. Purchases must be made in-person, not online. Once receipts have been submitted and verified, winning participants will be announced via an in-person raffle in the Macy’s Courtyard, at 345 S. Lake Ave. Raffle times are 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m. Entries do not rollover. If you don’t win, play again.
