The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and Optimum Seismic, an earthquake retrofit company in Los Angeles, are offering a free seismic retrofit workshop on Thursday, July 21, at the Jackie Robinson Community Center.
The workshop begins at 12 p.m. and lasts about an hour and a half.
It is intended for property owners and others who would like to learn about seismic retrofitting, with the City of Pasadena recently passing a seismic retrofit ordinance.
During this workshop you can learn more about the basic principles behind retrofit engineering and construction, and how to minimize the impact on tenants and parking spaces. You will also learn how other cities are doing their seismic retrofit programs.
Lunch and refreshments will be served. Free parking will be provided.
