The Giving Table at One Colorado, located in Douglas Alley in Old Pasadena, is hosting a month-long initiative in support of ‘Hunger Action Month.’

The event, which runs through September 30, encourages people to donate non-perishable food items to the Giving Table. Pasadena residents and visitors can stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to donate and to help end hunger.

All donations will be given to Friends In Deed Pasadena, a local interfaith organization that provides supportive services to meet basic human needs.

Founded in 1894, Friends In Deed Pasadena has been providing supportive services to the community’s most vulnerable citizens. The organization offers a range of services, including street outreach and housing, eviction prevention and rental assistance, and food pantry services.

They also operate The Women’s Room at their address at 444 E. Washington Blvd. The Women’s Room is the only organization in the San Gabriel Valley dedicated to serving women who are alone and experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

The Giving Table event at One Colorado is being held in partnership with CoreGiving, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating child hunger by providing nourishing meals to children and families through partnerships with food banks and other hunger-relief organizations across the U.S.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day during the month of September.

If you’re in the area, consider stopping by the Giving Table and donating non-perishable food items to Friends In Deed. Your contribution can make a significant difference in someone’s life.
