MUSE/IQUE Offstage on Wednesday will feature Artistic Producer Heather Lipson-Bell and talented guest artists Jamey Tate, drummer/arranger, and U-Jung Jung, pianist, sponsored by the Pasadena Senior Center.
Offstage is an online education workshop where MUSE/IQUE seeks to expand the reach of the theater’s live mainstage performances into Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area through strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations and community and venue partners.
In the program, Lipson-Bell, MUSE/IQUE’s director of education and community engagement, hosts curriculum-based, small group music interactions that engage participants in a deeper experience of the repertoire and themes of MUSE/IQUE’s mainstage performances.
Tate and Jung are from MUSE/IQUE’s “In A Minute… Or Two” web series, where Founder and Artistic Director Rachael Worby provides quick, sharp musicological insight, and your favorite instrumentalists, vocalists, dancers, and artists deliver unique intimate performances. Since March 2020, the series has been distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Tate and Jung are both music faculty members at Occidental College in Eagle Rock.
On Wednesday’s Offstage episode, Lipson-Bell and the two guest artists will explore music from the musician’s perspective.
The event begins at 4 p.m. on Zoom.
The workshop is free to attend, but registration is required.
