Dr. Julia E. Bradsher, President and CEO at Huntington Medical Research Institutes will be guest speaker Wednesday, June 8, at the open-to-the-public weekly meeting of the Pasadena Rotary Club. She will be speaking on the topic, “Reflections On Being A Transformational Leader.”
The meeting is in person at the University Club of Pasadena, at 175 N. Oakland Ave. It will be conducted in-person only.
Dr. Bradsher has been the President and CEO at HMRI for almost four years now and brings to HMRI extensive experience as a successful scientist and strategic leader. Dr. Bradsher leads the organization in its focused growth strategy with the vision of being a leading biomedical research institute within the United States. She is leading HMRI’s research, education, community engagement, and fundraising efforts.
Before joining HMRI in 2018, Bradsher was President and CEO of the International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI), President and CEO of The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), and held leadership and management roles in the pharmaceutical industry. She has occupied faculty and teaching positions at the University of California San Francisco, Sonoma State University, and San Francisco State University. She was also a Research Scientist at the New England Research Institute.
Bradsher’s advanced degrees include a PhD in medical sociology from the University of Miami, a MS in gerontology from Baylor University, a BS in psychology from Millsaps College, and an MBA from Suffolk University. She also completed the Pew Charitable Trusts Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Policy in a joint program at the University of California Institutes for Health Policy and Aging.
Bradsher has also served on several boards for non-profit organizations and for-profit companies. She is a Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and a NACD Certified Corporate Director.
