Heading to the Colorado Street Bridge Party Saturday? Pasadena Transit Makes Parking Easy

Published on Jul 15, 2023

The Colorado Street Bridge Party is set to draw a large crowd on Saturday after a five-year hiatus. To make parking easier, Pasadena Transit will provide transit service to the event from public parking lots and garages.

Laura Rubio-Cornejo, Director of the City’s Dept. Transportation, reported that Pasadena Transit’s Route 10 will be modified to provide party-goers with transportation options. It will connect to the event from the Metro A (Gold/L) Line, as well as offer parking in Old Pasadena and South Lake areas. The service hours for Route 10 will be extended, with the last bus departing from Colorado/Orange Grove at 11:47 p.m. The route will run every 18 minutes on its regular path (with slight modifications on the west end) until 8:00 p.m.

After 5:00 p.m., the fare will be free.

From 8:00 p.m., the route will be shortened on the east end, going as far as Lake/Del Mar and running every 11 minutes.

The Colorado Street Bridge Party, a celebration of the historic Pasadena icon and efforts to preserve it, will take place on Saturday, July 15. After an unexpected five-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Pasadena Heritage is offering residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy an evening on the Colorado Street Bridge, overlooking the Arroyo Seco. The event will run from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The logistics involved in organizing the Colorado Street Bridge Party are significant, as all the necessary infrastructure for the event needs to be set up and taken down within a 24-hour timeframe.

Attendees can look forward to live music by the Jimbonaires, Upstream, Mercy and the Merkettes, and Art Deco Entertainment, as well as dancing, vintage and rare cars, and children’s activities.

Food options at the event will include delectable creations from local eateries such as Mijares Mexican Restaurant, Robin’s Wood Fire BBQ, Pam’s Sweet Shack, and Funnel Cakes. Craft beer enthusiasts can enjoy offerings from Craftsman Brewing and Eagle Rock Brewery.

All proceeds from the Colorado Street Bridge Party will go towards supporting Pasadena Heritage’s mission of identifying, preserving, and protecting the historic, architectural, and cultural resources of the City of Pasadena.
