The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center announced that family-focused Bean Sprouts café will open in the Center’s RBAC café location this summer. Bean Sprouts will offer a menu of healthy and allergy-friendly meal selections that appeal to all ages.

The women behind the concept, Kelly “Pea Brain” Parthen and Shannon “Peacasso” Seip, started Bean Sprouts in 2007 with the goal to create an experience that sparks children’s appetites with good-for-you food while simultaneously delighting adults. Bean Sprouts has grown to over 20 locations in 9 states nationwide.

The menu will include breakfast, soups, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, snacks, and treats. Smoothies and coffee will also be available for purchase. Most items will include veggies or fruits in some form, and children will be encouraged to make their own healthy choices. Bean Sprouts welcomes diners with special dietary choices and challenges, including the following options on their menu:

● Vegetarian and Vegan

● Gluten-free

● Dairy-free

● Casein-free

● Nut-free

● Egg-free

● Soy-free

Bean Sprouts is expected to open over the summer. Hours of operation will be Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Open 360 days a year, the RBAC includes two Olympic Pools, a Therapy Pool, a conference room, a fitness center, locker rooms, a café, and an aquatics merchandise shop. It is home to swim, dive, and water polo teams and hosts a wide variety of programs including water aerobics, warm water exercise, lap swimming, synchronized swimming, learn-to-swim lessons, land-based fitness, and exercise, and yoga.
