The tenth anniversary of the San Marino Classic offers you the chance to visit with some of the most beautiful automobiles ever made, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, in Lacy Park, at 1485 Virginia Road in San Marino.

The 10th Classic will benefit Pasadena Humane.

This year, organizers of the San Marino Motor Classic, the premier regional automotive exhibition in the San Gabriel Valley, expect to present more than 400 mint condition collector cars and even more spectators than in previous years.

This year’s event will host the Ferrari Club of America’s Concorso Ferrari, the Classic Car Club of America’s Southern California Region Grand Classic and Packards Internationals Grand Salon and 30 additional classes. A number of vendors and food trucks will be onsite at the show.

Entrants and spectators are welcome to experience various events preceding and following the dazzling event, including a (sold-out) gala. Aside from benefiting Pasadena Humane, proceeds will benefit Cancer Support Community Pasadena, and the Rotary Club of San Marino.

The San Marino Motor Classic was established in 2011 by co-founders Aaron Weiss, Ben Reiling and Paul Colony and has been held at Lacy Park ever since. It is the successor of the Los Angeles Concours d’Elegance.

When it started, the exhibition was a hybrid of a Classic Car Club of America Grand Classic and a contemporary Concours d’Elegance. More than 220 brass era, depression era and post-war luxury and sports cars were showcased attracting more than 3,000 spectators. In 2011, the event raised more than $120,000 for its beneficiary charities, including Pasadena Humane.

This year, entrants compete in 30 classes including Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Corvettes and Mercedes-Benz, to name a few. Judging takes place in the afternoon Sunday, and at least seven awards are given, plus first, second and third place awards given per class.

Some of the prestigious awards given in 2012 include Best In Show, Most Elegant–Closed Car, Most Elegant–Open Car, Mayor’s Trophy–Most Significant Race Car. Other awards include the Art Center College of Design “Design in Excellence Award,” the Rotary Trophy–Best Woody and Meguiar’s Trophy–Best Paint and Finish.

General admission tickets are $35 each, and kids 12 years old and younger are free to enter.
