It’s the early 2000s, forever and ever.

The 2024 Just Like Heaven Festival will feature a spectrum of indie rock and electro dance bands at Brookside at The Rose Bowl Saturday, May 18.

Look for 20th (!) anniversary performances from The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie. The two bands will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their respective albums, “Give Up” and “Transatlanticism.”

The Postal Service will play their platinum album “Give Up” in its entirety, joined by Ben Gibbard’s really radio-friendly Death Cab for Cutie, as part of their extended co-headlining tour.

Said Gibbard, “We are thrilled to headline Just Like Heaven. It’s a great festival and opportunity to bring the 20th anniversary celebration of ‘Give Up’ and ‘Transatlanticism’ back to the Los Angeles area.”

Along with the headliners, the show features Phoenix, and the hippie sparkly jangle of The War on Drugs, along with other bands your cool mom likes, such as Miike Snow, Passion Pit, Alvvays, Two Door Cinema Club, Phantogram, Metric, Gossip.

Turn-of-the-century radio favorites Tegan and Sara will also take the stage, along with Washed Out, and quite the wide range of indie rock bands.

You could literally close your eyes and just stand there in the pit or on the grass, and happily soak in 1999, to just about last week.

Just Like Heaven also commemorates other artist milestones including Gossip’s first U.S. festival performance following the release of their album, “Real Power,” their first album release in 12 years; Swedish electropop group Miike Snow’s first performance since 2019 and Brazilian indie rock band CSS’s (aka Cansei de Ser Sexy) 20th anniversary celebration.
