The Pasadena Ice Skating Center is hosting a unique event, “Learn to Curl in Pasadena (Late Night)”, on November 4-5, 2023. This family-friendly event invites people of all ages and abilities to try their hand at the sport of curling, even if they have no prior experience.
Located at 300 East Green Street, the center will provide comprehensive instruction on the game. Participants will learn everything from understanding curling terms like hog lines, hacks, buttons, and houses, to the basics of throwing, sweeping, and game strategy.
The event is inclusive and accessible to participants with limited mobility or who use wheelchairs. Special accommodations can be arranged in advance to ensure everyone can enjoy the sport.
Participants are required to sign a release form, which can be downloaded in advance or filled out on-site. The cost of participation is $25 per person.
Attendees are advised to dress comfortably in loose clothing that allows for movement, warm socks, and rubber-soled, closed-toe shoes. Due to the coldness of the ice, layers are recommended. However, participants will quickly warm up once they start sweeping.
To ensure a smooth start to the event, arriving 10 minutes early is recommended. Parking options include free street parking nearby and paid parking structures.
This event offers a unique opportunity for families and individuals to learn a new sport together in a fun and supportive environment.
