Los Angeles Children’s Chorus Invites Young Pasadena Singers to Audition for 2024|25 Season

Published on Apr 30, 2024

Aspiring young singers in Pasadena are encouraged to audition for the renowned Los Angeles Children’s Chorus’ upcoming 2024-2025 season, offering a chance to be part of its Grammy Award-winning program. With auditions open for children aged 8 to 13 and young vocalists with changing voices, this initiative promises a transformative musical journey.

Auditions are scheduled for June 1 to 5 and the registration deadline is May 24. Singers ages 8 to 13 may audition for LACC’s treble ensembles. Singers in middle school or high school with changed or changing voices will be considered for the Young Men’s Ensemble.

“LACC offers children the opportunity to grow musically by supporting their healthy vocal development via a comprehensive, balanced, sequential program,” LACC’s announcement about the auditions said. “Children enjoy the shared experience of creating choral music with their ensembles; acquire musicianship skills; develop individual voices through one-on-one vocal coaching; and build camaraderie and the ‘spirit of the ensemble’ with fellow choristers at retreats and in rehearsal.”

The auditions are an avenue through which young singers can join the renowned ensemble and to begin their own transformative musical journey.

Auditions for the 2024-2025 season will encompass LACC’s treble-voice ensembles, including the Preparatory Choir, Apprentice Choir, Intermediate Choir, and Concert Choir.

Auditions for the Young Men’s Ensemble will be held on the afternoon of June 2 and by appointment as needed. Opportunities are also available for treble singers age 14 and over, based upon experience.

LACC said it is encouraging parents and guardians to learn more about the audition process so they could register their young singers on LACC’s Audition Page, https://lachildrenschorus.org/auditions/. Any inquiries can also be directed to audition@lachildrenschorus.org.

LACC also has its FAQ page where children and parents can learn more about the audition process. Visit https://laccsings.wpengine.com/audition-faq/.

The LACC, based in Pasadena, is generously supported by the State of California, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, the City of Pasadena, and numerous foundations and patrons, enabling it to offer its esteemed music education and performance programs.
