Love a Good Crime Story? Altadena Library to Host Virtual True Crime Book Club

Published on Dec 23, 2020

Join Altadena Libraries on Saturday, December 26, for a free virtual book club focused on all things true crime starting at 4 p.m.

True crime aficionados will have the opportunity to hear about all kinds of different crimes, and how justice hounds criminals.

The group will discuss this true crime hit, “A Tangled Web: A Cyberstalker, a Deadly Obsession, and the Twisting Path to Justice,” a book by Leslie Rule.

Leslie Rule is the daughter of No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Ann Rule, “America’s best true-crime writer,” according to Kirkus Reviews, who wrote the unforgettable classic, “The Stranger Beside Me.”

In “Tangled Web,” her true crime debut, Leslie Rule continues her mother’s true crime legacy. The book covers a frightening Omaha love triangle murder.

“I chose this case because I want to warn readers that the female sadistic sociopath may be the most dangerous killer of all,” Rule said.

A veteran author for over three decades, Rule’s other works include two suspense novels and five nonfiction books on the paranormal, including “Coast to Coast Ghosts – True Stories of Hauntings Across America.” She was only 17 when she started attending murder trials with her mother.

“It was my job to shoot the killers – not with a gun, but with my camera,” she says of the experience. Many of her courtroom photographs have appeared in her mother’s books.

In addition to her bestselling books, Leslie Rule has published dozens of articles in national magazines, including First for Women, Woman’s World and Reader’s Digest.
