Love Bread? Go Enjoy Purebread at Coffee Gallery Backstage

Published on Mar 17, 2022

Purebread, Southern California’s first tribute to the Soft Rock supergroup of the 70’s, Bread, will be performing at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena on Friday, March 18, starting at 8 p.m.

Bread and lead singer David Gates rose to popularity in 1970 with their first number one hit single “Make it With You,” which was followed up with no less than 12 Top 40 singles, making them one of the most prolific commercial bands since the 70s.

Purebread leader Ray Koukal started this band of stellar musicians to help him pay tribute to Gates and Bread in early 2021, and they say they’ve been working very hard to present this music to you in a very heartfelt and respectful way.

Listening to such songs as “It Don’t Matter to Me,” “Diary,” “Everything I Own,” “Lost Without Your Love,” “Baby I’m-a Wan’t You,” “The Guitar Man,” “Sweet Surrender,” “If,” and “Aubrey,” among others, you will be reminded of just how impactful Bread was in the emergence of soft rock and pop music in general.

Tickets to the concert are $20. For more information, call (626) 798-6236 or visit www.coffeegallery.com/blog/03-18-22-purebread.html.

The Coffee Gallery Backstage is at 2029 N. Lake Ave. in Altadena.
