Metropolitan Water District Will Tell Rotarians About a “New Source of Water for Southern California”

Rupam Soni, Community Relations Team Manager at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, will be guest speaker at the Pasadena Rotary Club’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, December 1. She will talk on the topic, “Regional Recycled Water Program: A New Source of Water for Southern California.”

Members of the community may attend the meeting in person or listen in via Zoom.

Rupam Soni is a registered Civil Engineer. She has a BS from UCLA and obtained her MS in Civil Engineering from UC Berkeley.

As a Community Relations Manager with the MWD, she is responsible for serving as a community liaison and engaging the public for many Metropolitan facilities, initiatives, and infrastructure projects. Much of her work involves outreach for the Regional Recycled Water Program, Metropolitan’s first in-region water supply. She is dedicated to making a difference in California’s water future through her work.

Soni is an active member of the WateReuse Association and leads their Communications Collaborative Group. She is also a member of the Board of Advisors for Grades of Green, an environmental nonprofit organization.

Soni has over 20 years of work experience in the water and wastewater industries.

The live in-person meeting opens at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. To attend in person at the University Club of Pasadena, RSVP by emailing office@pasadenarotary.com or by calling (626) 683-8243. For guests, lunch is $35 each.

Only members or guests with proof of vaccination or proof of COVID-19 negative test within 48 hours of the noon meeting may attend. Masks are required for all individuals, except when actively eating or drinking.
