Mt. Lowe Chamber Players Present “Chamber Music Concert for Brass Quintet”

Mt. Lowe Chamber Players presents a “Chamber Music Concert for Brass Quintet” on Sunday, March 27, 3:00 p.m. at the Altadena Main Library.

Featured Artists includes Erick Jovel (trumpet) – Erick is second trumpet with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. He has also performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, and Santa Barbara Symphony. Catherine Ryan (trumpet) –  Catherine has been a freelance musician in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years. Karen Klages (horn) – Karen has taught music in Pasadena schools since 1987. Outside of teaching she is an active performer on French Horn. Daniel Lawlor (trombone) Daniel has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, and is currently a member of the Disneyland Band. P. Blake Cooper (tuba) – Blake is a studio musician and professional tuba player. As an orchestral musician, Blake is tubist with New West Symphony and has performed with the LA Philharmonic, LA Opera, LA Chamber Orchestra, LA Master Chorale, Pasadena Symphony and Pops.

Program: Selections include movie music of Randy Newman and Leonard Bernstein, some more traditional brass repertoire from Bach, Gabrielli, Cheetam and Penella, as well as a tune from Hoagy Carmichael.

Mt. Lowe Chamber Players’ mission is to present classical chamber music concerts to the Altadena community performed by professional Altadena musicians who perform with area ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Chamber Orchestra, LA Opera, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony and others.

The event is Free and Open to the Public.
