A historic funeral home will transform into a crime scene Saturday night as Missing at the Mortuary hosts an interactive murder mystery experience inside a real 1920s mortuary.

The two-hour event on Saturday, June 14 from 8 to 10 p.m., will accommodate 24 participants at the venue located at 415 E. Orange Grove Boulevard. Each guest will assume the role of a suspect in an immersive mystery set within the authentic funeral home setting.

The experience tasks participants with identifying a killer among the group before time expires. Guests are encouraged to investigate, interrogate other participants, make accusations and defend themselves as they work to solve the case.

The event draws inspiration from the true horrors of the mortuary’s past, creating a blend between fiction and reality, organizers said. Costumes are encouraged for the theatrical experience.

Missing at the Mortuary operates as both an escape room venue and tour facility. The murder mystery represents an expansion of their offerings at the historic location, which maintains its original 1920s funeral home architecture and atmosphere.

Organizers warn that the experience is designed to blur the boundaries between entertainment and the building’s genuine history. Participants face the challenge of solving the mystery or risk becoming part of the next case.

Tickets for the limited-capacity event are available through this Eventbrite link.
